"ACROSS" (Homework for September 17th-2011) BASIC 3:

"ACROSS" :
-A by, for, from one side to another (a surface).
-The other side of, example: my house is across the street.
-Adverb, wide, example: the eye of that creature can measure 34 centimeters across.
-From, in front of. This preposition qualifies verbs meanings as follows: 1- Indicates approach through a surface, example: she came across to talk to me. 2- Indicates a movement over an object crossing or crossed over staying, example: he leant across the dead body to take the gun. 3- Expresses the writing of side to side from a surface, example: the words were written across the wall. 4- Indicates all over a surface, in all its extension, example: my father gave many talks across Spain last summer. 5- States that something affects everyone involved, without exception, example: the issues at stake cut across party lines. 6- With parts of the body indicates the extent of a stroke or pain, example: to hit across the face; I have a pain across my back.

Capable to do something; relevant, valuable, capable, right.
Examples:
- A able student.
- He es able to hire.
- She is able to work.
